A quick guide to some of the words and phrases used on the site.
Sanctuary
Formerly known as the institute’s sub basements. They now are the head quarters for the next generation of X Men. Sanctuary houses advanced technology, clean water along with barracks where the X Men can sleep comfortably and safe from attacks.
X-Net
The X net is a highly encrypted network that allows the X Men to communicate over vast spaces without fear of being intercepted by the Sentinels. X Net was developed by Cipher, its details are far too complex for anybody but him to truly understand. All you need to know is that it works.
Capitol
The city was once called Chicago but in recent years has gained the simple name of the capitol. The Capitol is the most technologically advanced city in the world, its expansive factory district is the world’s only manufacturer of sentinels. The Capitol is everything you would imagine a metropolis to be, truly amazing to behold however it has its dark parts like any city.
No Man’s Land
When the Phoenix’s powers got out of control the entire northeast was destroyed in a fiery inferno. While nobody knows how the fire spread many believed it to be radioactive I nature as many buildings still stand albeit their exteriors are charred black but they keep the recognisable skylines of their cities. The Capitol does not interfere with No Man’s Land.
Ground Zero
Ground Zero is the location where the Phoenix’s abilities spiked. The city of New York has been dubbed ground zero however if you’ve visited the city recently you would see that from the ashes plant life is growing through the city pavements, a true case of the Phoenix abilities to bring life.
Sentinels
Fifteen feet tall, these soulless faceless tin men fly through the sky almost all day, they carry out routine checks in order to detain mutants before they cause harm to the general populace. They are extremely powerful and very dangerous to Mutants.
Scraps
Pieces of destroyed Sentinels that were believed to be inactive. Although it’s only a dethatched arm it can still fire deadly energy blasts if you get too close. They act as landmines, scattered around the US.
Camps
Mutant treatment camps where mutants are rounded up, stopped from using their powers and tested on in order to create a cure for the affliction. This is mutant kind’s biggest fear and humanity’s biggest denial. Most either refuse to believe the camps are inhumane as others deny their existence.
