The X Men didn’t have many advantages over the Capitol, their technology was dated, their base was a near derelict war bunker bellow the ruins of a prep school and their only mode of transportation was a fairly unstable jet. However all of this had its perks, their base was perfectly hidden, their computers operated on a frequency ignored by the Government and their jet was, well honestly the jet was a real death-trap but at least they had three of them.
It wasn’t very often the Sentinels made their way into No Man’s Land especially so deep, normally they would cross the boarder by a few miles then turn around, however these sentinels were en route, they cut a path clearly from the Capital to New York, something was going down. Judah had assembled a team as quickly as possible, whoever was around and willing to get involved, he piloted the plane alongside Wolverine who begrudgingly accompanied them; after all she was the only one who had single handily taken down a sentinel.
The Jet had got them there about fifteen minutes after the sentinels arrived. A dozen sentinels had descended on the City, they were scanning the streets, clearly they hadn’t found their target yet but twelve sentinels was a terrifying sight, a month ago the vision of one sentinel would send shivers down his spine but now he was rushing headlong into battle with them. “Ok, I need a scout to scan ahead and find what they’re looking for.” He informed his ragtag team. “Secondly . . .” He paused thinking of what to say, “Don’t engage them in combat, we don’t have a hope in hell agi--“ he was cut off by a thundering explosion. The blackbird was spiralling out of control as it plummeted down towards the charred earth once known as Central Park. “Evacuate!” he informed the X Men as he used his own heat powers to blast off the loading bay. He assessed the damage to the plane, a Sentinel Jet had cut through its armour like a knife through butter, and they were sitting ducks.

Becca was hiding under some rubble near a crumbled building. She was trembling, not sure what to do next. The footsteps she heard from the Sentinel seemed to move farther away from her and things grew quiet. Then suddenly the rubble that was protecting her was thrown away like some kids toy across the street into a building. The ruined building seemed to be coming down now, while she was lifted into the air. The metal hand that held her fast made her scream in terror. Large red eyes looking at her as she held on for dear life, hoping this thing wouldn't drop her. But she started to calm down, she knew what she had to do in order to survive this. The Sentinel had no idea what was about to happen, the power of water will be it's end.
The Tin Can never new what hit him until it was too late. Water crept up from the sewer drains, snaking it's way toward the Sentinel. As it made contact with the metal it turned to ice freezing it up to its knee. This would hold it in place while water again snaked up the legs, seeping into any and ever crack and opening it will find. Thing about water is it's a good electric conductor and will electrocute anything that it or someone else touches. Water seeped into the Sentinels eyes and mouth drowning its insides making it short curcuit itself. This made it let go of Becca, dropping her only to have a rush of water meet her half way, saving her in time. However, as the Sentinel exploded, a wave water came toward her and she began to control it, concentrating and making it freeze in place.
Soon more Sentinels showed up and with a twist of her fingers, she sent large shards of ice ramdomly hitting in different areas of their bodies. Some were lucky shots others would hit random places; legs, arms and chest. Her main focus was their heads but only got two Sentinels. Suddenly the frozen wall turned into water and she sent the wave crashing into them, knocking them over. But she started to falter, growing weak, sending the large shards and the big wave spent most of her energy making her fall to one knee. She was short of breath and she was growing weaker, showing she wasn't too strong and only started to use her new found powers only just recently. The Sentinel's saw this, the ones that did fall were starting to get back up. So with her last remaining power she incased herself in a thick layer of ice to heal and regain her energy.

Why Aurora had decided to go along with this little scheme was beyond her. Really the only reason she was even on this death trap of a jet was because Wolverine was there. Wolverine was her only safe haven and the only person she ever felt safe with therefore she had followed the elder girl onto the jet. It wasn't that she couldn't handle herself against the Sentinels but she was afraid of her powers and was afraid of getting lost in them. Wolverine liked to reassure her that she was a valued member of the team and that she was needed, but Rory didn't feel needed. She felt more like a burden, having random panic attacks and being afraid to fully use her powers. She had the ability to be strong, very strong, but she was terrified of this and refused to ever let it show. People could sense the power inside her, the camp she had been at had been scheduling to have her shipped off to the Capitol to be put to sleep because any powerful mutant was too great of a risk to leave alive.
Now the jet was on a crash course for the ground which would put them right in the middle of the Sentinel raid that was going on down below on the ground. Honestly she hadn't thought that she would have to fight a Sentinel during this little rendezvous but fate had another plan for her. Rory grabbed the sides of her seat not sure what to do exactly when the it first happened but when Phoenix blew open the cargo door she knew that jumping before they hit the ground was probably the best idea. As the aircraft neared the ground she chose her spot and jumped tucking herself into a ball and rolling once she hit the hard ground. It hurt that was for sure, too bad her powers weren't good enough for her to create a shield, maybe someday.
Once she hit the ground she rolled quickly and moved into a standing position putting herself behind a mound of rubble and the like to keep herself out of view of the Sentinels. They knew of course that the jet was crashing but if they didn't see the people exit the craft then maybe they would have a chance of survival. All Rory knew was that she would rather die than go back to one of those camps. All she remembered about it was that it had been horrible. Her mind was fluttering and racing with every thought possible, stress setting in and blocking her focus. She knew she could at least throw objects and could read the mind of the Sentinels which might protect her because she would be able to know their every move before they moved. But she didn't know for sure how things would work. She had never been in combat before, ever, and she didn't know how to fight. It was a good time to learn she supposed, now or never, live or die. She waited for the others to hit the ground and waited to be told what to do by the others.

This was all they needed, not one but twelve sentinels to contend with, one of whom had already destroyed one of their wings. She happily took control of the jet as the kids escaped from the plane, she turned to Karma and shouted, “Go for their heads.” The shout was muffled by the rush of air into the jet as Phoenix tore the door from the frame. Be strong Rory, this is your first test. she thought over and over again, hoping the young telepath would pick up her thoughts. Arianna gripped at the handles trying her best to control the blackbird as it rapidly descended onto the city beneath. The stealth jet narrowly avoided several buildings before she managed to get it on target for a landing on an empty street. She was the last aboard, a captain going down with her vessel; she yanked hard on the controls as another sentinel shot a beam of energy at the jet. The second wing was hit and the jet made a rapid descent. Even as she pulled on the centre stick the plane nosedived onto the street bellow.
The turbulent drop was giving her butterflies like she’d never experienced before. They were somewhat pleasant. What followed was very unpleasant.
The ship almost folded in on itself as it crashed onto the street, it seemed to snap almost as easily as a coke can being stomped on by a frat boy. Arianna didn’t have time to react properly as the jet folded around her squeezing her tightly as the metal wrapped around her body, her skin remained unscratched yet she was encased in two hundred tons of mangled steel. She let out a groan, unable to even unfasten her safety belt as the machinery burnt all around her, electric fires had spread, and any other human would be little more than pulp at this point, yet Wolverine remained perfect, yet trapped.
She suddenly felt a force move the wreckage, she couldn’t move her head but the mechanical sound of hydraulic pumps, heavy machinery were a dead giveaway. The Sentinel tore the remains of the jet in two to find Wolverine. She desperately tried to reach for her seatbelt but was unable to before an intense blast of energy collided with her, she screamed in agony. Unsure what was happening to her as the Sentinel lifted up a second hand in order to shoot another beam.

Trent had been wandering through the wasteland that once was NYC, to think he had family living not far from here 21 years ago. Now it was a big heap of nothing, some old derelict buildings that refused to die being the only thing remaining. His plan was to find a place to camp out for a couple nights in a place that logically should be as far off the grid as possible outside of right under their noses. This place was deemed as no mans land by those idiots and no one was allowed to be here. They told the public that it was radioactive to scare people for coming here, it worked ironically. Well it worked as far as keeping people from coming back to this place, his plan of staying off the grid, not a chance. He could hear the rockets from over a mile away, the thing about Sentinels is once you've faced em, you'll never forget things. Things like the sound they make when they fly by, or how much a big pain in the ass they are. He whipped around and saw not one, not three, but a whole platoon of them. "F***!" he yelled out. He knew that the EG wanted him bad but sending twelve Sentinels to get the job done? Wait, maybe they weren't after him, was he that lucky? Probably not, someone in the last town over probably reported what direction he was heading when he left there. He dropped his bag to the ground and was standing ready for them all to touch down. One by one they landed and started scanning the area. He was almost about to take the cloth off of his eye to expose it when there was an explosion a ways from him. It caught the attention of the Sentinels and Trent took this moment to grab his bag again and he moved to get some cover by one of the still standing buildings. He watched with interest as a mutant was fighting one Sentinel with water. No way that was the explosion though, so he looked further and saw a jet being shot out of the sky. His eyes widened at that sight when it hit the ground and was crushed into a massive heap of metal. He saw a couple people jump out of it but what if there were people still trapped on board? Without thinking about it further he made his way towards the Sentinels and the wrecked jet. When it was blasted he stopped and watched on to see what was going. He saw someone still inside the wreck even after being blasted at such close range. The Sentinel raised it's other arm to fire again and he dropped his bag without hesitation and started running in a full sprint. "NO!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. "Over here ya big freakin idiots! I'm the one you came for, come and get me!" he yelled at the Sentinels. Who all turned around to inspect the newcomer and assess the situation. --PRIMARY TARGET ACQUIRED-- "That's right, come to papa." he muttered as he stopped in his tracks and pulled the cover off his eye. "If anyone's smart they'll hold onto something!" he yelled out just before he opened his left eye and looked at the Sentinels coming at him. Instantly a vacuum began sucking in everything in front of him into his left eye. The Sentinels began getting drawn closer to him against their own will. The longer he kept his eye open the stronger the vacuum became. It only took a few more seconds before the first Sentinel was pulled right off its feet and sucked into his eye, others followed without any form of resistance. This continued through 6 of the remaining 9, one of them fired a shot at Trent. The shot was also sucked into his eye but the attack once absorbed seemed to be the last bit he could take right now. Trent got knocked off his feet and rolled along the ground for about 20 ft. Once he came to a stop his eye was closed again when he looked out at the remaining Sentinels as they all gathered on his position. --PRIMARY TARGET TO BE APPREHENDED AND RETURNED TO BASE-- --DESTROY ALL REMAINING TARGETS IN THE AREA IS SECONDARY OBJECTIVE-- Two of the Sentinels turned around and went back for the others while the one speaking reached for Trent. Trent opened his eye just as he was picked up and he managed to rip the head clear off it before he closed his eye and then watched as he was still caught in it's grip as it's body fell to the ground.

Judah propelled through the air, his fiery aura leaving a trail of glistening in his wake. The sentinel was hot on his trail now as he passed over the wreckage of the jet. He hadn’t seen Wolverine vacate the plane yet he knew that she would be ok. He narrowly avoided a beam of energy as the Sentinel took aim at the young x man. He spun quickly in the air missing a second beam as he approached a piece of flatland where central park once stood. He glanced back just for a second to see the Sentinel flying backwards it had found a new target.
He breathed a sigh of relief before realising that the new target could have been Wolverine or worse Karma. He closed his eyes as the aura around his body grew in intensity, its warm golden shade turned to a violent red as he shot a fist into the air. He wasn’t sure what he was doing until it was done. An X burnt into the blue sky, as big as a football field it acted as a flare but also as a warning to the Capitol who were no doubt watching the streaming coming from the Sentinel.
He turned his attention back to the street where something he couldn’t quite explain was happening. A massive sentinel was being distorted and slowly sucked into something like a black hole had opened up in the middle of the city. The sentinel that had just been on his tail was now being sucked into the vortex. His heart sunk, had Karma done this? Wolverine had informed the group of her power yet this was insane. He cautiously flew towards the vortex as several Sentinels were pulled into it, they seemed to but unable to resist. He stopped almost a block away as a fifth sentinel was drawn into the vortex. His eyes darted down to the source, a mutant was absorbing them into his face, no his eye. Phoenix floated his eyes fixed upon the mutant in awe of the terrifying power.
He watched as the mutant was thrown across the street and picked up by one of the sentinels. He began flying towards the robot but the mutant was able to tear its head off into his tiny vortex. The second Sentinel stood at a distance; it was clearly transmitting the scene back to its base. Judah threw his fist at the titan and from it a huge concussive force of hear energy tore through the street colliding with the robot, the intense heat punctured the sentinel’s core and shot right through the back. Once the beam of energy stopped you could see through the Sentinel’s chest before it crumbled to the floor. He turned back to the mutant who had saved Wolverine, who was clinging to a lamppost for dear life, from the sentinels.
“Are you ok?” he asked the lone mutant as he landed on the ground a few feet from him. “Your power, it’s” he paused for a moment unable to find the right word, somehow his silence summed up the awesomeness of his power and the fear it caused Judah.

((OOC: Voice of god here, Jeez we really took out those sentinels quick. Let’s do something about that . . .))
It was meant to be a simple recon mission, the Sentinels were scanning ground zero for any trace of life preying they would find plants beginning to bloom or maybe some animal life returning to the area. The scout sentinels found life, however it wasn’t exactly what they had in mind. From their mobile response unit the MRD’s Rapid Response Unit watched as the mutants effortlessly decimated the scouting sentinels, “Chief, look at the feed from this one.” the private said with audible fear in his voice, “Is that an X?” he asked before turning back to his commander.
His commander studied the screen silently, he watched as the pyrokinetic mutant created the symbol in the sky, “You bet your ass it is.” he said. If he was scared he wasn’t showing it, as a matter of fact he sounded excited which made the rest of the unit uneasy. “It looks like we’ve got ourselves an excuse to burst out the Phoenix Buster.” he said with a grin as he lifted his radio to his mouth. “First Sergeant, I’m patching you a feed to a situation in New York right now. I’m looking for authorisation to deploy the Phoenix Buster unit.” he asked as he waited for a response, as he waited the sentinel’s feed cut out. Only one of the feeds remained active, the sentinel hovered over a young girl identified as a runaway mutant.
The First Sergeant responded after a few moments, “You have authorisation Sergeant. Give them hell.”
The leader smiled, “Cooper, I want a direct path to ground zero. Briggs, Wesley, Mills and Anderson suit up.” He instructed with mirth, “We’re going to hunt us some mutants.” He led the team to a special area, “Boys, welcome to the armoury.” he said showing the men suits that almost resembled ironman armour combined with the sentinel colours and helmet. “They just destroyed our recon unit, let’s show them what real Sentinel tech is capable of.”
((OOC: I hope you don’t mind my tampering with the scene I just thought I’d extend the action a little, we can do a little round of them talking before the new Sentinel’s come into play so we can have a little team work n stuff))

Becca had been in the ice cocoon for only a few moments now when one of the Sentinels started to pound on it with his metal fists. It was cracking with each hit of the Sentinels fists, ice pieces falling off of it. One last hit from its fist, it cracked open like an egg, making her fall out of it and she slowly started to come to. She felt better but still felt like crap too and stood up slowly, feeling a bit wobbly and weak. It took a moment to get her barrings and realized she was being lifted now, the thing squeezing her tightly. This made her yell out in pain suddenly the water started to form on her hands rather large fists made of ice, as she started to pound away at its head.
However, the thing started to melt, the sentinel still squeezing her tightly still. The air was getting squeezed out of her lungs, she was getting light headed and soon passed out onto its hand. She was barely breathing as she lay there limp in his hands. The sentinel was started to turn slowly making its escape toward the MRD HQ's. The Sentinel had already reported back to them telling them it had found one of the mutant run aways and was bringing it back with her. The young girl was still out and breathing lightly, limp but not lifeless. The healing helped but only a little, restoring most of her own energy she wasted in the first fight. The hand holding her only loosened lightly getting some air to breath now.
Becca was still weak and couldn't summon any water, her body was tired and too weak to trying anything. Damnit, why did she have to be so weak, she was gonna have to work on that she thought as she was being carted away.

This rendezvous was not her idea, and now she was regretting coming at all. She was pretty sure that things went from bad to worse after the plane started to go down. She remember jumping and hitting the ground, hiding herself from the Sentinels. Then she remembered watching the others jump out as the plane crashed and crumpled. As she watched the bodies of the others touch the ground she realized that Wolverine was not on of them. Seeing everyone but her only friend not jump from the plane nearly gave her a heart attack. She was about ready to try and stop the plane from crashing like it did until she remembered that Wolverine was indestructable.
Before she could even really act Phoenix and some other guy that she had never seen before were already attacking the Sentinels. It didn't take long before all but one Sentinel was dead. It was insane how fast the two guys had taken out all of the bad guys. It kind of was a relief because then she didn't have to do a single thing, she liked not having to use her powers because she didn't have control of them completely. But her relief was short lived when she looked over to the left and saw another mutant, a younger girl, being dragged off my the last remaining Sentinel. Everyone else seemed either not to notice or were too busy with the other Sentinels, making sure they were dead and all. She soon realized that it was up to her to try and stop the Sentinel from taking the girl back to the Capitol. Bad things happened there and she knew it.
She looked around quickly and then spotted a very sharp chunk of metal. Using her mind she lifted the metal and flung it at the Sentinel chopping off his left arm and barely missing the girl in his grasp. She ran towards the Sentinel now picking up rocks and flinging them at the Sentinel while she telepathically yelled at the girl RUN! The Sentinel turned on Karma now but before he could do anything she stopped in her tracks and concentrated as hard as she could. Inside his head all the Sentinel could hear was her voice.
You do not want to attack me I do not want to attack you You want to kill yourself
The Sentinel did not obey this command. Her mind control was not her best ability yet but she was trying as hard as she could to get better at it because she knew it made her a better fighter.
I said you want to kill yourself!
Screw you the Sentinel growled and struck her hard in the face. Once she hit the ground her nailed her into the ribs with his boots. He wanted her alive so the Capitol could tear her apart piece by piece. But before he could grab her she pulled herself off the ground and using her telekinetic ability she lifted the Sentinel and flung him as far as she could, just to her luck he landed on the previous chunk of metal which sliced him in two. After doing this her knees buckled and she fell to her knees holding her head. Blood trickled from her nose as she tried to shake off the horrible headache. She wished she was stronger, but at the same time she wished she was normal too. At least she had killed the Sentinel.

Pain like nothing she had ever felt before coursed through her body as the sentinel overloaded her pain threshold with its hand mounted lasers. She was paralyzed with pain unable to fight off the heat until she finally felt respite. She opened her eyes again to see the sentinel be dragged backwards, its metal twisting like it was play dough. It finally was sucked into a singular point, the eye of a mutant standing a few feet away from the evil contraption. The metal o the seat had been burnt away by the sentinel, her clothes were singed but they had kept their form, she breathed a sigh of relief until a piece of metal flew from the remains of the black bird, it was sucked into the vortex along with several other sentinels.
Arianna suddenly felt light on her feet, before she could do anything she felt her body being pulled into the air, the gravitational pull of the Sentinel had gotten a hold of her, she grabbed onto a lamppost that she floated by and into the vortex. She clung for dear life preying the lamppost wasn’t going to be torn from the ground, she saw Judah fly overhead in a trail of flames as the Sentinel chased him. she prayed that Rory had made it as she began to lose grip, her sweaty hands lost their hold on the pole, she floated in the air, she couldn’t be killed but she was sure as hell a black hole would swallowed her with relative ease.
Without a second’s notice she harshly dropped to the ground her shoulder colliding with the pavement bellow in a mighty thud which cracked the sidewalk, but didn’t even scratch Wolverine. She scratched her head and got a good look at the Sentinel as Judah shot a magnificent blast of energy through its chest, it cut it easily obviously because these sentinels weren’t real.
They were real sentinels but they weren’t of the mutant hunting variety, they were scout droids used by the Mutant Response Division to do a little scare mongering in small towns or to actually do some scouting ahead if they were walking into a danger zone. “There are more on their way.” She informed the two men as she climbed to her feet regaining her voice, “These guys were the warm up act. We need a way out of here now.” She turns looking down the street they had crash-landed, “When did Karma get out? She’s all alone out there.” She said before the final sentinel blew up in the distance, “Well at least she’s not powerless.” She smiled before turning to Trent. “You did a lot of damage there, thanks for having my back.” She said with a smile to her savoir. He was handsome, even with his eye patch. “The name’s Arianna Ramos, these guys call me Wolverine.” She said with a smile.

As Trent fell forward in the grasp still of the now destroyed he covered his face before impact. Once everything stopped moving he pulled himself free of the Sentinel's hand and walked over to a streetlamp. He pulled the cloth down over his eye before opening his eye to look around. One of the other mutants, the fire flyer came up to him , Trent was breathing hard before but when this guy came over he almost froze. He didn't though and instead just steadied his breathing while still holding onto the streetlamp.
“Are you ok?”
Trent silently nodded his head without making much eye contact with the guy. He wasn't comfortable being around others let alone other mutants. This guy though seemed like he wasn't leaving anytime soon.
“Your power, it’s...”
Trent looked at him directly for the first time. "It's a curse and a burden, nothing more." he informed him before the girl from the jet spoke up.
“There are more on their way. These guys were the warm up act. We need a way out of here now.” she said as she was getting up off the ground and walked over to them. “You did a lot of damage there, thanks for having my back. The name’s Arianna Ramos, these guys call me Wolverine.”
She smiled at him, he hasn't seen someone genuinely smile at him in a very very long time. So long that it was foreign to him to be shown kindness or to remember what it was like.
"My name is Trent, this is the first time I've ever met other mutants before that weren't out to get me. So I should warn you now that you need to go, find your friend and get as far away from me as possible. You are right about the fact that there are more Sentinels coming. I know this because the Capitol has been after me specifically for years now. I've been able to avoid capture time and time again because of my power. They've sent Sentinels and mutants after me many times, this group of Sentinels was sent to find me. But with you guys showing up I don't know what their gonna do. It's not safe to be around me, I'm not safe and I only put those around me in danger. I am glad that I could help you guys out like I did, but I don't want to put you all in danger because of me."
He let go of the streetlamp and stood up and looked around. He looked down the way that Karma must of been based on the explosion from earlier. "I'll assume your friend is that way so I'll head the opposite way and draw their attention so you all can escape." He said before he walked past them and away from them to give them a chance to escape, and put some distance between him and them as well.
